Medical Library and Information Services of SCSTI

The scientific library of SCSTI considers medicine and health care to be a key areas. We provide access to external licensed and open access e-resource databases (full-text, bibliographic), metasearch engines (discovery systems Primo and Summon), international interlibrary loan service and search services. These services are provided on the basis of free online registration (the registration form is possible to switch from Slovak to English). Registration

Every adult citizen of the Slovak Republic can register with us for free, as well as foreign citizens who study or work in Slovakia. The registration process consists of 3 steps:

1. Fill out the form on our website (it is possible to switch from Slovak to English). If you are a foreigner, please use your institutional student or work email and choose the Permisson for stay as Identity card type.
2. After submitting the form, you will receive an automatic e-mail from us. Confirm your email address within 30 minutes of receiving the email by clicking on the link in the text of this email. The text is written in Slovak
3. For the purpose of identity verification, send a scan of your ID card to the e-mail address vypozicky.nvk@cvtisr.sk or come to our study room in Lamačská cesta 8/A physically.

After identity verification, you will receive an e-mail confirming the activation of your account. E-mails regarding registration are sent in Slovak.

Access to e-resources

• metasearch engine PRIMO (searches multiple licensed databases simultaneously)
• metasearch engine Summon (searches multiple licensed databases simultaneously)
• list of licensed medical databases (in Slovak)
• list of all licensed databases (in Slovak)
• Google Scholar via SCSTI (higher number of accessible licensed results)

Each database is accessed by filling in your e-mail address and the password you chose during registration. If you have forgotten your password, you can change it in the login form.
